"Bambú's roll call of talent is as long as an elephant's doo da."
- Yogi Haughton, DJ

Comprised of an eclectic mix of artists on the dance scene, Bambú includes Ben Mitchell of Mr. Hermano, international globe-trotting DJ and Bitches Brew co-founder Cosmo, Nicolas Matar from Journey's by DJs and New York club Cielo and singer Billie Godfrey fresh off the Beverly Knight tour. Together they have covered the Stevie Wonder penned classic "The Real Thing" originally performed by Sergio Mendes and have turned it into a modern dancefloor classic and a cult hit in Japan. "The Real Thing" appeals to both house DJs like Danny Krivit and Dimitri From Paris and eclectic future jazz DJs such as Rainer Truby. It features live musicianship from keyboard player Mark Edwards and guitarist / bass player Jeff "The Funk" Walker.

"The Real Thing" single features a Brazilian-tinged percussive soulful vocal and instrumental produced by Ben Mitchell and Cosmo and a deep house dub by Nicolas Matar.

For their follow-up single, Bambú covered the Linda Williams 1979 classic "Elevate Your Mind" which updates this seminal classic for the modern dancefloor using the trademark Bambú technique.

Bambú is featured on compilations such as the Kyoto Jazz Massive mix compilation "Joyride", Soulstar's "A Lounge Supreme Vol. 3", King International's "The Football Job", KSR's "Bossa House n 'Breaks Vol. 4" and "Latin House n' Breaks Vol. 3" and Europapop's "Visage 2" amongst others.
